I ended my 18-month hiatus from league bowling last night. Between a broken finger that knocked me out of the fall leagues last year, and the move preventing summer bowling, there wasn't a chance to get back on the lanes. I joined a men's league with my father-in-law and brother-in-law on Wednesday nights. It's competitve, but not overly hardcore at all. We're still trying to round out our team and get a full roster, but since I know exactly nobody here outside of family I'm leaving it up to the other two to get our spots filled.
It ended up being a overall good night scorewise too. I came into this year trying to keep expectations reasonable. My goal for the year was (and still is) to keep my average no lower than 190. If I make all my spares, and get one double in there, that's a 200 game most times. I figured on a slow start the first week and work my way up. And after game 1, that plan was right on track. A lot of missed marks and 3 missed spares led to a 165. But things started to click at teh end of that game, and it carried over the rest of the night. I shot a 215 and 214 in the final two games for a 594 series. Couple that with everyone else seemingly having a good time, and I couldn't ask for more.
Weeks bowled: 1
Current Average: 198
